Ripple Run 5K/1K

Atlanta Metro
The Pebble Tossers Ripple Run 5K/1K + Nonprofit Expo 2021 will be held virtually on April 18, 2021. Held annually to support the Pebble Tossers mission to empower and equip youth to lead through service, the Ripple Run is tailored to be a fun event for families and teams! The official race day is Sunday, April 18 with an unofficial start time of 9 a.m. We'll have an online singing of the national anthem, a group warm-up and will conclude with a Facebook live Zoom event to feature our nonprofit expo partners and announce the race winners. Need to run ahead of Sunday? No problem! Run anytime between Monday, April 12 and Sunday, April 18 by noon and submit your time.
Fitness & Health
Families with children on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing disorders are encouraged to join the Museum’s 2021 Sensory Friendly Sessions! On select Sundays during Session A, kids can enjoy a playful, hands-on experience with a sensory modified setting, limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments to ensure safety and comfort. Stage programming will not be available during Sensory Friendly Sessions. Session A: 9:30 a.m.

Children’s Museum of Atlanta is celebrating the world’s wonderful environment with a week of fun-filled programs centered around Mother Earth! Little ones will learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle at the Science Bar, Creativity Café and on Stage. CMA On Stage: Earth Week Poetry + Storytime: 10 Things I Can Do to Help My World by Melanie Walsh. Session A: 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. / Session B: 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. / Session C: 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.; Science Bar: Little ones will learn what materials can be recycled and composted using the curriculum from the Museum’s friends at Novelis. Session A: 10 a.m. / Session B: 1 p.m. / Session C: 4 p.m.; Creativity Café: Children will make their own seed paper and pinecone bird feeders while learning about poetry. Session A: 10 a.m. / Session B: 1 p.m. / Session C: 4 p.m.

As one of the newest self guided tours in Forsyth, this African American Heritage Guide takes you through a journey of African American history throughout Monroe County. This self-guided tour is meant to be a starting point in exploring the journey of African Americans in our community. It contains some brief biographical information on those who shaped our history; a timeline critical to putting events into context; and a brief driving tour to link people and places. Vinings Jubilee’s weekly farmers markets were such a hit this fall that they will now continue throughout the year! Guests can visit the market from 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and enjoy fresh produce, honey and wax products, delicious ready-to-eat products like pimento cheese and dips, and more -- all conveniently located in the heart of Vinings. Some of the vendors include 3 Bros Cookies, My Daily Bread, Pure Bliss Organics and Sugas Pimento Cheeses. Plein Air - Art in the Mountains

Northeast Georgia Mountains
Three days of outdoor painting or 'en plein air'. Artists come to Gilmer County to paint the views, vistas, rivers, lakes and architecture. Several sites around the county will be host to the artists as they paint all day Friday & Saturday. Sunday morning there will be a Quick Draw competition at Chateau Meichtry Vineyards with a $500 grand prize. Sunday afternoon Gilmer Arts will hold an auction of the paintings the artists have chosen to be auctioned on the grounds of the Vineyard and Winery.

Georgia Strawberry Festival

The Georgia Strawberry Festival brings a great group of people together for a wonderful annual event celebrating hometown values and of course, STRAWBERRIES! Featuring food, arts and crafts, vendors, a parade, family fun and more! Held annually on the fourth Saturday in April in Reynolds. Monster Jam

This. Is. Monster Jam! The most action-packed motorsports experience for families in the world today returns after a pandemic pause, roaring into Atlanta for a high-octane weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Monster Jam, one of the first family events to open its doors to fans since the global pandemic began in 2020, features the ultimate mix of high-flying action and four-wheel excitement with added health measures in place. In order to meet and exceed those expectations, Monster Jam has implemented enhanced health measures to help ensure the highest standards of wellness when it comes to today’s live experience. Seating capacity will be reduced at Atlanta Motor Speedway to a Pod Seating structure, which will allow family and friends to safely enjoy all the action while social distancing from other groups in attendance. The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center proudly presents a 2021 Madison Chamber Music Festival Performance by Balsam Range! Join us at the Madison Municipal Airport (doors open at 6 p.m.), for an outdoor evening, where Balsam Range will perform their award-winning acoustic music from the stage.  While listening, enjoy the best local barbecue from the Crowe’s BBQ food truck. Beer and wine will also be served. The group’s ascent to the top of the Bluegrass world has left a well-marked trail of success since the band’s inception in 2007. One of the genre’s most award-winning artists in recent years, they have garnered 13 International Bluegrass Music Association Awards on the heels of 8 critically acclaimed albums. Ticket prices are $45 per person and are on sale now.  BBQ, beer, and wine are not included in the ticket price. Ample free parking on site. See you there!

Appalachian Jam

North Georgia's mountain music pickers, singers and listeners flock to the Dahlonega Gold Museum State Historic Site for the annual Dahlonega Appalachian Jam. The Appalachian Jam gives traditional mountain music players the chance to get together and celebrate the kind of music that has been performed in the Appalachian Mountains for generations. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments and gather on the historic Public Square to jam. Everyone else should come on down and listen or dance. Bring a chair or stool and stay awhile!

Lumpkin Street Cruise-in Car Show

We are blocking off Lumpkin Street to give you plenty of room to show off your ride!! Cruise-in runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. If you’ve got a hot rod, muscle car, modified, classic driver, specialty, truck, bike and one-offs bring them all! Everyone is welcomed! Come out to show off your ride. Food, raffles and door prizes. Bring the whole family including your pet (as long as they are on a leash and are used to crowds.) Open to the public.
